I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

The rate was attractive but it was a pain to have to print out a form, fill it in and post it. Why can't all your accounts applications be online Reviewed on: 12th March 2021

New account set up quickly and easily

I was surprised to be asked to complete a paper form for a new account at Newbury BS, but it was just so quick and easy - much easier than an on-line process for a new account at a competitor. The new account was opened and the passbook arrived in the post, even before my cheque had cleared. Just splendid customer service! Reviewed on: 12th March 2021

First class service.

Contacted Newbury in regard of opening new accounts. Advisor ran through all details and next steps. Told application forms would be sent out that day, they arrived the following day. Also told that new account details should take approx 3 days to arrive, they arrived in 3 days. When i asked about online access informed that under current conditions it could take 4/5 days for final information to get to me, it arrived in 2 days. What a pleasure to speak to polite and well informed staff who do what they say they will do. Already recommended you to 2 family members. Thank you for all your help. Reviewed on: 8th March 2021

Great personal customer service

I opened a new savings account on the recommendation of my husband and found the whole process incredibly easy. The staff are really lovely and I like that you can actually talk to someone on the phone either at head office or in branch, and they still have high street branches. Overall, VERY impressed!
