Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

A very satisfactory outcome.

We are new customers. Alice Champion opened a new account with a minimum of fuss, but without hurrying or cutting corners. Being from 'financial backgrounds' we understood the process and compliance issues to be dealt with, and she handled all these in a methodical and efficient manner. A pleasant experience overall. Disappointing treatment of customers

The society are advertising in a huge 1 page spread in the Newbury News of a new account paying 1.5%. However, don't get too excited it's not for current customers! Only fir new ones "not available to existing members". Poor way of trwTing loyalty . Will contact CEO and if not offered this rate will take my money elsewhere and suggest everyone else does too. Our Existing Members Account is for existing members - and it pays 1.75%, (0.25% more than the Welcome to Newbury account you saw for new members if the advert) and the account is there specifically to reward our loyal members after a year of joining us (which is, we agree, an important thing to do). Opening a new account wasn't easy at first

Trying to find everything online to open a new Newbury account wasn't straightforward. Could only find the application form for a Shared account and not a sole account. Also, under the Welcome to Newbury account, there was the option to 'Apply Online' but then it didn't appear on the drop down menu for 'myaccounts'. Once downloaded, the Shared form was easy to fill in (crossing out the 2nd applicant) and everything went smoothly from then on Reviewed on: 13th December 2019

A good savings rate in the present economy and friendly and efficient staff.

I don't have too much dealings with the newbury building society as I no longer live within their catchment area, but the rate of interest I get on my account with them is good when compared to other banks. However, any time that I do need to contact them by post or telephone, I always receive fast, efficient and friendly service. Reviewed on: 5th December 2019
