Wonderful pet insurance

Our little dog has Pruritus which means he needs continuing treatment which Petplan cover, for life! It's wonderful to know our little guy is being well looked after. Claims are handled quickly and efficiently without fuss. Wonderful. Reviewed on: 19th August 2024

I had the lifetime £7k policy for both of my boys (cats) over the years I never needed to use my insurance but I knew I had purchased it for a reason so kept it, and then one day one of my boys stopped eating, just thinking it was possibly something to do with his teeth/mouth however it was much more serious than that. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma and FIV, the decision we made was to let him go peacefully with us by his side. Our vets dealt with everything and claimed directly with Petplan, who paid all bar the excess. We didn't need to get involved with anything and we received emails to update us on the claim but it wasn't too much contact. Reviewed on: 6th August 2024

Hassle free and quick claims payment

I've had to claim thousands this year for my three pets insured with Petplan. Each claim was dealt with quickly and all I had to do was fill out a few details online. They care for your pet

So they might be more expensive than other providers in the market but the old saying " you get what you pay for" comes to mind, they make it possible to care for your pet whilst they do the rest, from doing direct claims with the vets to be able to give you a decision before you make a claim by doing a Pre auth. quick claim payments and peace of mind

the claims process is very quick and easy to do via the website or your vet can even do it for you. i had my claim approved and the money was back in my bank account within 2 weeks. I find Petplan a lot more expensive than other companies but you are paying for excellant service and quick turn around when you need it most therefore depending on your financial situation it is worth the extra pounds Reviewed on: 5th August 2024

I recently started using Pets at Home and was recommended to use Petplan for my pet insurance. Surprisingly, it turned out to be more expensive than the competition, but I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, when I attempted to make a claim for an unexpected vet bill in December, right around Christmas, it has been over a month, and there has been no progress on my claim. Despite my efforts to get updates by calling them every day, they repeatedly assure me that someone is looking into the matter and it will be resolved within the week. However, several weeks have passed, and there has been no resolution. The customer service has been very poor, with no one reaching out to provide updates or fulfill their promises. Frustrated with the lack of progress, I have decided to cancel my insurance with Petplan and am currently searching for a better alternative. If they cannot handle a small claim like mine promptly, it raises concerns about their ability to handle larger and more serious claims. I would not recommend this insurance to anyone who cares about their pet's well-being. Reviewed on: 17th January 2024
