Review of the Policy Expert, Home Insurance:

Awful Claims Experience.

The true testament to any insurance company is what happens when you need to make a claim, and, quite frankly, Policy Expert (Accredited Insurance Europe), are crooks. We had a very clear and obvious landslip at the rear of our property during a winter storm. This impacted a retaining wall and subsequent rear elevation wall. After sending an assessor out, remedial work was carried out to stop the roof collapsing. The contractor at the time then gave PE a price to undertake the work. After this price was given, everything changed. PE send a new surveyor out to assess the damage - with the clear intention of trying everything they could to decline the claim. The surveyor changed his mind and decided that the claim should be declined, with a largely unsubstantiated guess at what 'might' have happened. We were then forced to make a complaint to the Ombudsman, despite the cause of the claim being within the boundaries of the policy wording and conditions. The Ombudsman found in our favour and upheld the complaint, yet this wasn't enough for PE, who then questioned the decision of the Ombudsman. Their argument was pathetic, based on guesswork and lies. After 11 months, the Ombudsman found in our favour for the 2nd time. Our wall is near-collapsed and the contents of that part of the property are decimated from mould and water damage. (PE refused to pay storage costs). I an only encourage people to heed this as a warning. PE do everything they can to refuse claims, and it'll take up months of your time trying to fight them. a good value provider

I have found policy expert to frequently be my best option for low cost home insurance in recent years. The coverage is adequate for my needs. Whenever I've spoken to a customer assistant they were very patient and understanding, and prompt to make requested changes. Reviewed on: 25th August 2024

Years of Satisfaction

I have insured with them for years and had to claim once, with good result. At first i phoned annually to make sure they insured exactly what I wanted, but recently have just automatically re-insured as it is a reasonable price, even after the claim. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Policy Expert the best for me

At the time I went with Policy Expert they were the cheapest for paying the bill over the year and I have renewed my policy a few times now and they are still the cheapest for me. Don’t know how they are for paying out on a claim because I haven’t had to make a claim from them. I have no complaints from using their policy. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Happy to recommend a previous customer

Purchased 3 months ago as a previous customer and I could not find a better rate or better cover for the cost despite searching for quite a while. All completed on line without human interaction and following payment my documents were instantly available for download. I have used the same company for a while now but always research for alternatives to ensure my premiums are not being artificially inflated. I am an older person so my risk factors may be lower but the house and contents are still higher value. I will remain with them as long as they continue to offer such good value for money. I have not needed to make a claim but this is usually where you find out how good your chosen company is. I feel confident that I will receive top of the line service despite the lower premium. Worth insuring with

Have stayed with policy expert for the last 3 years and have never had any problems. They only ever increase my insurance policy costs to match in line with inflation but it’s never a big jump in price. They include free extras as part of my package aswell. If I ever need them, they are easy to contact and sort any issues out quickly. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

My renewal with Policy Expert had gone up significantly. After using a comparison site I called Policy Expert and they were able to better the other quotes I'd received. Annoying that the price had hiked in the first place, but I ended up with a premium I was comfortable with. Fortunately I've not needed to claim, so can't comment on the processing.
