I insured my vehicle with this company because of the name, wrongly thinking they would offer a great service but NO, they weren't interested so gave me the underwriters phone number, WESYBAY, never ever have I dealt with such cowboys, I complained to the RAC as it was them I paid but they couldn't help, Westbay told me my car was a right off without even seeing a photo, when challenged, they said parts were hard to come by given its age, its 12 years old with extremely low milage. October 2023 was when the accident occurred, my vehicle was fixed in January 2024, I was refused a courtesy car, Enterprise then called me to see if they could give me a car but because I had been told it was a fault claim they couldn't offer one either. Neither of us were at fault, the highways confirmed and sent an email confirming that traffic lights were not working, we both left on a green light thus causing the accident, how is this a fault claim? I received a letter which stated I should of taken more care, you go on a GREEN light. I was told to go to Richardsons the nominated garage to see if the car could be repaired, on arrival, I was told by a lady eating crisps on reception that I was early and the surveyor was at lunch, not a problem, waited, tried to make conversation and was pretty much ignored, made to feel like an inconvenience, the surveyor took all of five minutes to look at the car and said he couldn't tell me anything, it was a bumper for goodness sake. I got a quote from an independent garage who were eventually approved after me calling them again for an update, the garage was challenged saying it should be written off, Westbay were told that a payout would be less than the car was worth. Over three months to get a bumper fixed?, I wouldn't recommend anyone to use the RAC and Westbay, their staff do not give out their surnames, not allowed to WHAT? minus 0 out 10 would be given and that is generous Reviewed on: 27th January 2024

The cheapest but still wildly expensive

The cheapest deal but still outrageously expensive. Despite having another year of no claims under my belt when I came to renew my insurance this year the only quotes I could find were all at least £100 more thank last year. Reviewed on: 25th August 2023

Awful

Put my renewal premium up hugely despite not making a claim, sent me a really offhand email telling me that despite paying by Direct Debit monthly for years and years I would now have to pay the whole amount in one go (nearly £1600). Talk about not reading the room and helping their clients in a difficult economic environment. Happy news is I got insurance for £900 elsewhere with the facility to pay monthly, so the RAC were not only rude and dismissive they were also just plain greedy. Not ever using them for anything again as they couldn't care less about customer loyalty. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

These companies are frauds, they're both telling me different things and have been for weeks until I started asking for information in writing form. Just be aware they're problematic and even though they're contracted with each other they don't communicate with each other. Reviewed on: 18th July 2023

Avoid at all costs

Just cancelled policy after 3 months cover as they tried to rip us off for 2 x £25.00 admin fees to amend the policy. The original premium was £246. and we’re getting a refund of £48. Their cancellation fee is £56 (another rip-0ff?) which means we’ve paid a premium of £142 for 3 months cover (when a full year was only £246). AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Bad car insurance company

If could I would give them 0 starts I have arranged to do the cancellation over the phone with the customer service. Everything agreed they would take the money out from the direct debit account within 7 days from my partner account. which was really appreciated by me and my partner as we had a joint car insurance for that car. After 2 weeks I received an increase of £25 on my cancellation fee plus the amount owed After talking to then on the phone still wanted me to pay the increase. GREEDY and conning company never use them again I would not recommend to anyone regardless of what the situation Find a new quote get another insurance company to provide you cover Reviewed on: 12th July 2023
