I earn nectar points and their security is very strong I get text messages for every transaction. Payment process is simple and customer service is excellent. It's accepted everywhere, the app is very user friendly. I never had any issues, been using this credit card for years. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

Great Card - poor admin

0% Interest for 30 months plus a high limit is really useful; the best I found. But their website is terrible, sadly. Hard work viewing transactions, and I've found statement reminders are a bit hit or miss, plus the statements themselves aren't often published on time. Could do with a massive overhaul, and/or an app. Reviewed on: 15th April 2019

Incompetent bank

They make it very difficult to use their online banking service - when it comes to trying to get your money out. Several unnecessary validations are needed that mean your instant access account is not really instant access it's a month's notice account. Very dodgy bunch. Stay well clear to avoid stress. Have stopped getting Nectar points fro my spending

Have had a SB Nectar card for several years and got a monthly credit of points for usage of the card. In July they changed the design of the statements and I stopped being credited with my points. The points reconciliation was missing from the July & August statements and then reappeared in September but did not make much sense. I called them, had to wait a long time to get through to a person and then was told there was a problem which they were sorting out. A month later and I am now missing 4 months worth of points. Very poor service from a reputable company like Sainsburys. Reviewed on: 22nd October 2018

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service Still waiting for a response to a written complaint made in July. They sent me a reference number but nothing since despite two email reminders and three messages left via on line banking. Sainsbury obviously care nothing about their customers. Incompetent

Unbelievable incompetence and couldn't give a damn attitude. A mistake by them took months to sort out, eventually the mistake was found by a RIVAL bank. Telephone contact often took between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Not even an apology from them. I've just cancelled this card and will never use this bunch again. Time after time they said there was nothing wrong with their transactions, for weeks and weeks, yet they had transposed one digit and sent £2,900 to a random account. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2018

No app & a lot of hard work...

Although applying for the account online took a couple of minutes, it took nearly 3 weeks for the paperwork to arrive & activating the card / signing up for online banking was more hard work than it needed to be. I do like the text reminders for payments but this was one of those cards where I watched daily for the payment to leave my account (even after I checked over the phone & via social media) - I just didn't trust that it was in place. Taking out a Sainsbury credit card was a giant mistake on my part. Terrible and unclear paperwork, old system making payments inpossible and very very long waits on telephone. With sainsbury credit card I've had none stop problems . Now changed to tesco. Fantastic easy to pay, see balance quick. Reviewed on: 3rd August 2018

You have to experience Sainsburys to appreciate how truly bad it is

The worst customer service I have ever experienced, online banking options are limited so you can't avoid calling customer services and so far this week I've spent around 7 hours on hold in total and got nowhere. They hung up on me twice and three times I've been told by someone with zero customer service training that they can't help but will transfer me to someone who can and then just dump my call to the back of the queue on hold again. I wish I had read some of these reviews before using their services, I intend to cancel my dealings with them as soon as I can speak to someone Reviewed on: 2nd August 2018

Still waiting to talk to someone

I've spent the last hour trying to contact their technical support regarding a "problem" with my online access all I hear is "Thanks for waiting a member of the team will be with you SHORTLY" ... or not ! This is just an appalling service :( I'm get rid of this card. Reviewed on: 31st July 2018
