Worse bank ever

I have been stranded for more than 2 weeks without access to my cards and accounts because they are suspecting frais because of HMRC refund. I sent them straight away proofs that the payment was due to me. I am calling them every single day and the answer is « we are looking into your issue ASAP ». We have very different notion of ASAP if it takes more than 2 weeks to review a HMRC letter!!! I have been twittering them facebooking them, gone into branch several times but no one looks into my issue. So so poor and disappointing thinking that I have been banking with them for 5 years. The worse is that they blocked my account while I was in Spain and I had to cash alternative, I had to beg complete strangers for money for food and fraud public transport as I had no access to any funds. Completely outrageous when you think I have thousands of £ in ransom in my account. My Santander credit card is also not being paid due to the block so they are charging me a £12. Just realised my Netflix account has been disconnected because they are blocking everything out of my account. I have tried closing my account but it is not possible due to the « investigation ». Completely outrageous and unacceptable and no one has the decency to even contact me! I am furious!!! Reviewed on: 7th March 2020

TOTALLY CRAP ON LINE BANKING SYSTEM ! I spent over 2 hours trying to log in, clear the cookies, using various browsers. DO NOT USE SANTANDER BANK as they are totally shi*t in IT dept. I have other bank accounts with on line banking & have not had any issues - santander is the only one so it proves they are incompetent. Reviewed on: 7th March 2020

Terrible bank

They've blocked my account because I got a tax refund off hmrc I've shown them proof and they still wont let me access my account or have any of my funds when you ring you get nothing from them it's the worst bank to open an account with Reviewed on: 5th March 2020

It's done the job for me

I don't think the rates are very good on their savings accounts at all. My graduate account is nearly maturing I think, I couldn't see when it started on my online banking. The overdraft facility is still there I think that the account lasts for two years and then becomes a normal current account. I get 3% interest on a balance larger than £200 I think so that's not bad. Reviewed on: 9th February 2020
