Stay Well Clear of Santander

The worst bank and customer service on the planet! I have had a lock placed on my account and the reason they gave me was that i have used contactless payment too much. Now considering i have spent the last 3 weeks in Singapore and never use the card as i dont want to pay their extortionate rates. I transfer from the bank to Wise. Now they have blocked it and tell me i have to buy something in Singapore and put my pin number in to release the block. Its the only way i can unblock it! Santander are a joke and i shall be closing the account down because of this. Complete failures! still waiting on the line for the fraud team to unblock this bar and been waiting over an hour so far. i am stuck in Singapore without access to my money. Easy to use and love the app

Easy current account with good money back and interest . Find the app fabulous especially as I have a savings acct and credit card with Santander so easy to move money Reviewed on: 27th January 2020

you get less than you used to

People in branches are great, but product is getting less good over time....

The 123 current account was brilliant when it first started. 3% interest and no annual fee, then it went to £5 a month fee and 1.5% interest, and just recently they have announced they are cutting the interest AGAIN, to just 1%. The product now has very little to recommend it over other current accounts. I am cancelling my 123 credit card as since the fee for that was introduced, my interest isn't covering it. It's a shame as there is a branch near me and the staff are brilliant, but the products are suffering. Reviewed on: 21st January 2020

Secure and easy to use account

Easy to use on the website or the mobile app. Branch in my local town always good to have. Account pays interest on current balance but this is reducing in a few months. Cashback for some direct debits. Reviewed on: 21st January 2020

Rubbish bank

Horrible

Once excellent soon to become undesireable

Santander used to provide top cash interest rates and great cashback for a small monthly payment. These have gradually been weaken and in March we hear they will worsen still.....time to switch. Reviewed on: 16th January 2020

Best bank!

Been with this bank since I Fiat had a bank when I was 13 so for about 6/7 years now. Only thing I could fault is the savings account-I was putting away £200 a month at 5% until the last month when it dropped down to 2.5% which was very misleading and I only received 2.5% not the 5% which I signed up for.
