Stay Well Clear of Santander

The worst bank and customer service on the planet! I have had a lock placed on my account and the reason they gave me was that i have used contactless payment too much. Now considering i have spent the last 3 weeks in Singapore and never use the card as i dont want to pay their extortionate rates. I transfer from the bank to Wise. Now they have blocked it and tell me i have to buy something in Singapore and put my pin number in to release the block. Its the only way i can unblock it! Santander are a joke and i shall be closing the account down because of this. Complete failures! still waiting on the line for the fraud team to unblock this bar and been waiting over an hour so far. i am stuck in Singapore without access to my money. Deserted my local high street(Penarth)

Had a very good local branch which I used a lot which was closed and I was told to go the next town! As a result I have started moving money away from Santander to providers with branches in Penarth Reviewed on: 12th November 2019

123 Account

123 Account for Me

This is one of the few bank accounts that don’t require a minimum pay in of over £1,000 needed to open it, making it accessible to those in lower paid occupations. For the monthly fee of £5 you get interest on your balance and cash back on direct debits to utility companies. They also have an offers page where you can earn cash back on certain retailers and popular eating out brands, by choosing the offers you want and using your debit card at them. Great cash back

When we pay out a fair amount of our income on household bills, it's rewarding to know that we'll get a bit back as cash back from our 123 account with Santander. They are such an understanding & helpful bank to be with. Reviewed on: 5th November 2019

Ok for the moment

I've had serious problems with Santander in the past, but currently they seem to be doing better than ever in my personal experience, I've had great customer service from them, their fraud prevention seems great as I've had a couple of attempts of money being taken from my account and they were on the ball and spotted it immediately and put a stop to that money going out of my account, even when it was a tiny amount for the fraudsters to check it's an active account/card. It's great to be earning cashback on my everyday purchases and direct debits. I'm a happy customer for the moment. Reviewed on: 15th September 2019
