Review of the Starling Bank, Current Account:

Excellent app, fair fees, modern but a REAL bank

I've been using Starling as my main account for 5 years or so. I'm happy to be with a forward-looking bank whose service just works, every day of the week (no strange delays or transaction dates at weekends), but lets you pay in cheques (by photo) and cash (at the Post Office) for those occasional needs. I've had very little trouble though have contacted by in-app chat (and once by phone, when both my card and phone were stolen) and was happy with the service. App features such as Spaces and multiple accounts for contacts have been mainstays for years and other banks are only just starting to catch up to some of them. Together with entirely fee-free abroad usage (no limits) and in-credit interest recently bumped, I'm happy that Starling give a generous offering, great control of my finances, and everything I could expect from a traditional bank when I need it. I love Starling Bank, Very Happy!

I love Starling Bank, I have had several accounts with other banks previously and there has always been issues ('hidden fees Barclays!?). So, Starling feels fresh and modern as a bank. It was really easy to set up, I like the video security feature. Having 'spaces' to divide your money into seperate areas within the app is great for organising your funds. I make use of the no currency conversion fee to get great deals and save money buying from other countries. The company also seems to have a pretty 'sound' (good) ethos. Overall I'm happy! So impressed infact that I have got both of my sons setup with a Starling account also. :D Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Very good communication when I had a problem with a transaction recently. I like the ease of using my accounts both current and savings. The interest offered is better than other banks I looked at. I would definitely recommend Starting Bank to friends and family. Reviewed on: 17th April 2025
