Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Weight lifting that makes a huge difference

Contacting Step Change was a game changing moment in my life. I'd used all my saving paying my monthly debts while off work with a deteriorating Illness. This was during covid second wave. I'd tried working with companies myself but to no workable outcome. After my initial conversation with Step Change I had huge feeling of relief as if I was listened too and the weight on my shoulders was being shared, The advice and support they gave was a game changer for me. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't made that initial contact, Their debt management plan was such a great support. I could get on with my health battle without the worry. They are always there if I need further advice or if I'm having difficulties with a debter. They gave advice on how to approach any issues with companies too. Such an excellent service. Could have asked for more

The team at step change were so understanding; reassuring and supportive from start to finish. When I was in a dark place they assured me there was light at the end of the tunnel. They even offered support beyond my financial situation to ensure I was getting all the advice and support pertaining to my circumstances as a whole. Debt Management Plan

Really helpful

Step Change have been absolutely brilliant. I got into a financial mess and was told about Step Change from my bank. I contacted them and everything was sorted really quickly. They took the stress away

I can’t tell you how much Step Change have helped me. I faced a significant amount of personal debt, I had backed myself into a corner financially. Finally, after being diagnosed with depression and getting help I was able to face the financial situation I was in. Once I got in contact with Step Change they helped me get on top of my situation. They treated me with dignity and respect and were never judgmental, they contacted all my debtors and based on my financial situation set out what payments I could afford.
