Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Helpful, knowledgeable and friendly

Having recently being bereaved, I was having difficulty in keeping up my payments. I contacted Step Change who advised a debt management programmme. I submitted my income and expenditure account which was approved by Step Change and submitted to my creditors for their approval, which was granted. So easy to follow and complete peace of mind

Fab company

Step change have helped me enormously with my debts and sorting the creditors out taking the strain off me. Obviously you have to supply them with all the relevant information but they then correspond with the creditors which prevents the creditors being on your back. Life savers......quite literally

Thanks to Stepchange I can sleep at night and afford food and rent. I'm relieved that I'm paying my creditors back but not be stressed about it. Excellent staff

As you can imagine being in debt is extremely stressing I was at rock bottom I couldn't see a way out as a family we was broken struggling to eat enough to be well as all the money went on debts one of the people I was in debt with suggested stepchange and I immediately rang them every member of staff iv spoken to has been nothing short of amazing they are all supportive empathetic and didn't judge I was offered a dmp I was scared so I went off and thought about it I rang several times with silly questions yet wasn't left thinking I was being stupid or wasting there time in the end I went with there recommendation I now make 1 monthly payment and withing the next 3 years I would be debt free the website is easy to use to update things I have recommended this to friends and family even a stranger in the bank who was begging for a loan to help her my life has completely changed I can eat take the kids on the occasional day out I can't thank stepchange enough Reviewed on: 7th July 2023
