Just Great

I had a lot of debt and the company were just on my back all the time and it was making me ill. I then heard about Step Change so I contacted them and they went through everything with me and put me on a Debt Management program and contacted all my creditors for me and make all payments direct for me. From despair to hope

The hardest part is asking for help .You feel as if you have let yourself down as well as everyone else . You feel as if nobody can help & you don't know who to turn to . When I was given the number for StepChange , it took a while to pluck up courage to dial the number. I expected to be judged , told I was a failure . But how wrong was I . It became clear in a few seconds that the person on the other end of the phone wanted to help . It was the best phone call I have ever made . I was in the dark and didn't know what to do,my loan...

The light at the end of the tunnel

Stepchange provided me with not just money relief they provided me with stress relief. I was spiralling further into debt when I found their service and they stabilised me. Their help and guidance is the light at the end of the tunnel. I am less than a year away from the end of my DMP and they have taught me how to be more responsible with my money. £1,000 p/m to £60 thanks to Stepchange

I approached step change after I became overwhelmed with debt repayments and got caught up in the horrific cycle of debt. I had a consultation that was blame-free (stepchange don't care why you've found yourself in debt, they care about how they can help you out of it) and were very helpful. I work in Finance and they were careful to advise if I had an obligation to tell my employer. In many cases, this isn't necessary. Stepchange facilitated the move from me paying the banks £1,000 a month to me now paying £60. It's manageable and I can live my life feeling a sense of dignity again. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025
