Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Step changes has given me the help I needed

Easy to navigate round the portal with prompts in place giving me the chance to get my finances back in order with peace of mind and no more worry a friend recommended you as she could see I was struggling. Even the review after a year was easy to update. Reviewed on: 16th May 2024

They saved me!

They basically saved me from a situation that was causing a lot of stress and gave me a new lease of life. Circumstances bring un-manageable debt to many people through no fault of their own which can a have a serious impact upon mental health, sometimes leading to suicide. Step Change are an incredible healing light unto millions of individuals and families, in the face of greedy corporations focused only on creating dependency in consumers and capitalising on desperate situations for the purpose of transferring any future wealth, into the pockets of those who already have more than enough. From despair to success!

I was despairing about my debt and at the end of my tether with trying to manage it on my own. I felt I didn't have anyone to turn to for help and I was embarrassed to ask. Then I heard about StepChange.. I made a phone call, it was sympathetically answered and I was guided through the process, by a very patient person. A great weight was lifted when StepChange took over the situation for me. They kept me updated and informed all the way. Any queries were handled positively. 5 years on and I'm debt free!
