StepChange - a life saver

In 2007 I was drowning in debt. I couldn't see anyway out until I contacted StepChange (then Consumer Credit Counselling Service). I cannot praise them highly enough. Although I still have debt it is stable and since 2007 my anxiety is far lower. The advisors are kind, friendly, understanding and extremely helpful. Their website is easy to navigate too. Amazing results

Amazing service was so much in debt but Step Change were unbelieveable not judgemental patronising or in anyway negative. After a few weeks the calls stopped letters stopped. It has taken 5 years but what an amazing feeling 2 months left and totaly debt free. Thank you to all the wonderful staff we spoke to for your help. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

A light at the end of the tunnel

When I first contacted Stepchange I was extremely worried about the credit card debt I owed, and I had been recently bereaved. The information I was given enabled me to choose the best way of recovering from a bleak situation. I didn’t feel that I was being judged and the staff showed patience and understanding, helping me through the various stages of setting up my debt recovery plan. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

From despair to hope

The hardest part is asking for help .You feel as if you have let yourself down as well as everyone else . You feel as if nobody can help & you don't know who to turn to . When I was given the number for StepChange , it took a while to pluck up courage to dial the number. I expected to be judged , told I was a failure . But how wrong was I . It became clear in a few seconds that the person on the other end of the phone wanted to help . It was the best phone call I have ever made .
