I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had bro...

I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Don’t be afraid to make that first call to stepchange

Step change helped me see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. The relief I felt the day I picked up the phone was unbelievable. I dreaded making the call but it was single handedly the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve still got a long way to go to be debt free but I can sleep easy again and don’t dread the front door knocking or the phone ringing. Reviewed on: 1st May 2024

I was struggling with managing to pay my debts and I turned to Stepchange to help me find the best solution. At first I felt embarrassed at my situation but the lady who answered my call was very caring, understanding and reassuring. It wasn't too long before we worked out the best solution for me and I began to feel more positive regarding my situation. It was the most important I made in a long time. We had a debt management scheme with StepChange

We had a debt management scheme with StepChange for approximately 10 years, yes we had a lot of debt. They were so helpful and kind, whatever happened to us, job losses, etc they were able to help us repay our debts, within our own budget. So helpful and informative as well. Above & beyond customer service throughout .

Due to long term illness I had to stop working to receive treatment so I needed help to manage my debt..I live in Leicester but my illness is very rare & I get treated in Chelsea hospital London so I had to prioritise being able to afford to get to my appointments & surgery’s. The advise & help I received was Excellent, I was very surprised how much help & guidance was given in a clear & genuine way.. Being in hospital so much having this experience has really helped ease my mind that I am able to manage everything & not worry & be so anxious about it anymore.
