Amazing customer support

My mortgage advisor remained the same throughout the process and was always aware of the status of my application without ever having to revisit previously provided information. My advisor was extremely helpful and friendly and made every effort to make the process as straightforward as possible. I have been with many other lenders previously and Suffolk Building Society is by far the best for customer service and support that I have used. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2026

Exceptional service

All the staff that I have dealt with have been professional, thorough, understanding, patient and above all genuinely kind. I lost my wife in early 2025 and this has prompted a multitude of forced admin. Stephen Lye in particular has been exceptional. The procedure was transparent, but...

The procedure to go to a decision in principle was transparent and understandable. I was extremely disappointed to find out that they do not provide mortgages to flats that are held under freehold status. If this is the case it should be stated clearly in the documentation and then avoid the wasted time of the potential clients. Reviewed on: 21st September 2026

Excellent customer service by the Mortgage Lending team

We contacted Suffolk Building Society for a mortgage and was assigned to the mortgage advisor, Stephen Lye. He delivered excellent customer service throughout the process. Stephen clearly explained each step and managed our expectations regarding timescales, he happily answered any questions that we had and he was always easily contactable.
