Appreciate their values, ethics and plain language

I am a Triodos Bank user because of their values and because it is the most ethical banking option available in the UK. I find their copy easy to read and respectful, the app easy to use in most cases and I love how they invest in projects that actually help people and the planet. There are only a few things that would improve the experience for me: first, being able to receive international transfers into the account - this is currently too complex, as you don't have an IBAN and need to send the money to Triodos first, which can very easily go wrong if the person at the other end doesn't add your correct account information to their Reference field. Second, offering business banking for small enterprises/self-employed individuals would be fantastic. Third, although I understand the reasoning behind it, I find that charging for a current account (£3 monthly) puts many people off when there are other banks that pay you instead. Great customer service, excellent app.

Great customer service, always ready to listen to suggestions; it's so good to talk to real humans. Excellent App, and now that ApplePay is also part of the options I can't fault Triodos on any level. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026

Triodos is the only truly ethical bank in the UK

Triodos is the only truly ethical bank in the UK and nothing compares to it in terms of its social/ethical commitments. Its customer service is very good and the online banking easy to use. Use money sustainably, are contactable, and helpful.

My money is used for sustainability projects, and all the information about these projects are available line from the bank's website. Whenever I have needed to contact the bank directly, which is infrequently, they are quick to answer and very helpful. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026
