Ethical banking

I chose to open a current account with Triodos because it is a well-established ethical bank with a good reputation. Doing good whilst we're sleeping

I love Triodos bank because the businesses that it loans to are all really ethical and doing good in their communities. I love it that our money is doing good whilst we're sleeping and going about our daily lives. We can all recycle more, and do small actions to make the world a better place, but putting our money into savings with an ethical bank is a really easy but effective way of doing great stuff. Great bank with great ethos

Ethics & fairness for all

The most critical thing to praise Triodos on is their ethics - you know that your money is not going to be invested in many of the causes that, if people knew, they would absolutely want to avoid. This is what makes Triodos stand apart. Secondly, the unusual thing about Triodos is that everybody has to pay to have a current account, £3 per month, but you know what... that is much more fair to all customers as running a bank account is not cost free. So, at Triodos there is none of the big cross-subsidising we see at the traditional banks where better-off customers are in effect subsidised at the expense of the difficulties of those who are overdrawn & potentially being charged a staggering 39.9% interest on their borrowings.
