When Smile was taken over by hedge funds I looked around to find an alternative and found Triodos. One of my favourite things about Triodos is the "Community" / "Know where your money goes" section of the app and learning what local businesses Triodos have funded. Reviewed on: 2nd January 2020

Open and Ethical Banking

I signed up for a current account with Triodos because I wanted to be sure that the bank I was using was ethical and would only invest my money in appropriate ways. As it turns out, they have been great the deal with - the few times I have had to call their customer service they have been very polite, friendly and helpful. I like the level of communication I get from them and the efforts they go to to let me know where my money is going and the results it is producing. I genuinely feel they have gone to a lot of trouble to be as open and upfront as possible which, compared to the rest of the banking industry, is a breath of fresh air!
