Review of the Vernon Building Society, Mortgages:

Don't always believe

Money tooken for house valuation and it is our fault that we didn't wait for the answer first. But customer advisor was saying "no need to woried all should be okay, all looks good". Declined because of that there is gaps for last 4 years working (it is not true). Money for deposit are from student finance (Not true as well). Not even given a chance to prove that that it is not true. "You are in risk beacuse of Covid-19". So why giving a hope.. I do not recommended Reviewed on: 16th July 2020

Truly excellent customer service

I am just paying off my mortgage with the Vernon Building Society and wanted to share my experience. The Vernon has given me truly excellent customer service throughout my time with them. Their staff are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful and have always done what they can to assist me. When I have requested a change in my mortgage, which required a letter to confirm the change, the letter would usually be received the following day (even if I had spoken to them in the afternoon). They have advised and helped me and have always been happy to answer any questions I might have had during my time with them. I am really glad that I chose the Vernon for my mortgage - I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you to all the staff that the Vernon, you are an excellent team! Reviewed on: 6th July 2020

Words cannot describe just how wonderful Lucy Burnside is. She has made the whole journey incredible. We are buying our first home and she has been so helpful with everything. Student Buy To Let Mortgage

Maureen and her team were great and really helped us when other brokers didn't. Whilst the Vernon product may not be the cheapest it was organised and agreed on much more practical basis e.g. focusing more on the proposed income streams and costs of the actual property rather than factors outside of this. Two very satisfied customers

My wife and I were undecided about whether to move house or extend our present mortgage. After seeking advice from the Vernon Building Society with their help we made the right decision. We were given several options and plenty of time to consider them. We were treated with courtesy and cheerfulness at all times and always felt we were being reassured if we had any questions about the process. Local

1. Get my address right! Letter addressed incorrectly. Parcel was correctly addressed.2. Your letter of 30 April requesting final payment was only a few days after my regular monthly payment. I would have preferred a phone call to see if this short time was acceptable, especially as the last payment was greater than the monthly figure. Why ask me to remit money when you can issue a direct debit? Reviewed on: 9th May 2020

The Vernon has helped us so much with our journey to getting on the property ladder.
