Awful customer service

extremely unhelpful, rude customer service agents who do not appear to listed to your issues but just repeat platitudes from a script. We had an issue where cash paid in at a branch "disappeared" for over 2 weeks, during which time outgoing payments were bounced and we incurred bank charges. We had to fight tooth and nail to get reimbursed, they refused to admit the error was theirs. Dreadful service. Reviewed on: 6th January 2018

Excellent Bank

Have banked with HSBC for 20+ years now and have never had a problem with them, they have always been very keen to help resolve any issues and have offered great borrowing options when needed. My only negative would be that they are behind on new technologies a little. Some of the newer online banks offer much more innovation in banking, though i appreciate these things take time to role out when you are as big as HSBC. I have been with HSBC for about 15 years now and find their internet banking very easy to use. I especially like the "pending transactions" feature in my current account. I check my account daily and this feature reminds me what is going out soon and I can ensure the money is in my account. I have now upgraded to HSBC advance which incurs no monthly fee, and it comes with a range of discounts which I find very handy indeed. Reviewed on: 2nd January 2018

I've been banking with HSBC since I was 7 years old and they were called The Midland Bank; I opened a Griffin Savers account. I also have my ISA with them. Perhaps for me, it's more a case of sticking with what I know. Reviewed on: 31st December 2017
