Emergency home cover, what a joke!

Our boiler started leaking a week ago. Finally got someone out for emergency cover after about 8 hours. They managed to stop the leak & said they would authorise the work with Admiral. 5 phone calls later and still awaiting authorisation. Meanwhile, we are left with intermittent heating and hot water on some of the coldest days. Shocking service, we won't be renewing any insurance with Admiral again. Reviewed on: 10th December 2023

worst company I have ever dealt with, ignore this warning at your peril

Admiral are a bad choice Admiral are a bad, hostile company, masters of sharp practice. cannot be trusted one bit. You are inviting trouble if you use them. We had an important house cover policy, the card used for automatic renewals expired while we were on a months holiday. they sent a letter instead of an e mail which, obviously we could not see. When we got back, we found the policy had been cancelled and we were charged £50 ''administration'' fee, which they have put into the hands of a debt collection company, who are now harassing us. we made an attempt to pay to restart the policy, and were told they had cancelled it. We attempted to obtain a new policy from them, were connected to a foreign operator who could not be understood, after spending an hour on the phone, we were cut off and did not bother to call us back. Payment of a claim

So i finally had my claim upheld about the incorrect offer that Admiral had made my wife about her lost earrings and they agreed to pay the legally correct amount plus compensation. I had a call on Friday 3rd Nov to say that i would receive my money within 5 working days. Guess what, i didn't and still haven't, tues 14th Nov. Tons of the usual apologies, but no resolution, apart from "it's in the system!" ! am not sure whether Admiral are just incompetent throughout or enjoy annoying their customers? DISAPPOINTING dont use

My first-ever buildings claim since I had a chip pan fire in 1974...........rain in heavy storms found a way into my well-maintained house roof and soaked a bedroom ceiling. My good builder is due to repair this week whi is a relief as it is bad and mould has already started to affect my eyes -- Admiral cannot give me a date for a surveyor to inspect to progress a claim (or turn me down!) and their best suggestion is a "temporary" repair meanwhile. I offered photos instead to enable work to go ahead while they think about it but not interested. I wont be using them again and it seems to me that building insurance is only needed in case of major disaster and good luck then. Reviewed on: 30th October 2023

Poor communication, waste of time

Tried to claim through my accidental damage cover for a broken shower screen and hole in the bath. Was told the claim would be treated as an emergency. Sent photos of the damage as requested and was told the details would be sent over to a company called Plastic Surgeons to handle the repair. After no contact from Plastic Surgeons I contacted them only to be asked for the photographs which had not been sent on by Admiral. Eventually Plastic Surgeons advised they could repair the bath but not until the shower screen was fixed. Admiral had given the impression they would be handling the entire repair. Got back in touch with Admiral who advised they would look for someone to repair the screen. After no contact I called today only to be told I should just get my own quotes and send them over which I could have done a week ago but was never asked to do. So now I have to get quotes which could not even be accepted by Admiral and then wait god knows how long to have the screen repaired, then wait however long for the Plastic Surgeon company to fix the bath. Communication has been terrible from the start and am still stuck with a damaged bathroom (the only one in the house) despite paying for gold level cover and being an Admiral customer for two years. Will be moving my policy from Admiral at the earliest opportunity, absolute joke. Reviewed on: 23rd October 2023
