AVOID Home Emergency Cover

My boiler broke down just before the new year, with water leaking out from behind the water pump. Trying to get this resolved with Admirals Home Emergency Cover has been a nightmare. They subcontract this service to third parties, who subcontract this service to third parties, who subcontract themselves, and so on... It took me four separate assessments (and over a month of not heating or hot water) to identify and "fix" the boiler. But in the process, they broke the flue, causing gasses to leak into my house once the boiler was finally operational. They refused to attend before I got the gas board to isoate the supply, then refused to come out because their engineers were NOT GAS SAFE REGISTERED and so couldn't turn the gas back on to test for leaks. Because of the damage caused by their engineers, I have ended up having to buy a new boiler. Combined with other damage caused while the engineers were visiting, and from the incredibly slow resonse times I have experienced, Admiral Home Emergency Cover has actually put me in about £4K of debt. Compounding all this is their terrible customer complaints procedures. The only way to raise a formal complaint is by letter or email, you cannot speak to a complaint handler directly. It took them fifteen weeks to respond to my initial email (the FCA maximum is twelve), and they are yet to respond (five weeks later) to my almost immediate response highlighting where they had misrepresented the facts of my complaint. I have been an Admiral customer for many years, but this experience has thoroughly soured my good sentiment towards them. This is not what you expect when you buy insurance. I reccomend you AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Reviewed on: 17th May 2023

Worst Comany to reach

Our policy lasted 5 days. A complete waste of time and effort. They never sent the documents out and didn't answer questions about the actuakl cover amount for the buildings insurance.. Spoke to 14 people in INDIA, PHILIPINEs and CANADA, but nobody knew or could answer anything. It says 'unlimited', but then their policy summary says £261k. Our Bank won't advance our mortgage now because they say it has to state a minimum of £450k. 2 days before completion, and its impossible to reach anyone to answer the cover question. Admiral sucks the big one. We are cancelling it imediately and going elswhere. Stop using third-world companies to answer your phones and enquiries, who haven't got the first clue about the products. 5 Months and no payout yet

We were burgled in November 2022 and it's been 5 Months. We haven't seen a penny. Ever week we have to contact them to find out what's going on and they pass the buck to Sedgwick. DO NOT INSURE WITH ADMIRAL Reviewed on: 14th April 2023

Admiral want me back

Last year I cancelled my admiral house insurance. Because in their infinite wisdom they decided I'm incapable of accepting the price that I was quoted by them . I eventually got them to accept I don't do auto renewal and I was promised a phone call LAST YEAR I'm still waiting for your call. Admiral. Last week I received an email from them saying that they want me back??? Let me think about it.... When hell freezes over. I don't know if this clarifies the position with you perhaps you can actually phone me at your earliest convenience and I will be glad to hear your explanation of why you think I am incapable of deciding who I have for my insurance provider Reviewed on: 31st January 2023
