BBS were great for our guest house mortgage

Bath Building Society was very flexible and set up a mortgage for our guest house. All the other lenders we approached (Lloyds, Natwest, Halifax etc.) were unable to help because we didn't fall into a standard tickbox category. The rate was always competitive, we had a series of discounted rate deals. Been with them for about 20 years. I highly recommend BBS. Reviewed on: 24th April 2025

Great service and friendly to intermediaries too

As an intermediary, I deal with a wide range of mortgage providers. In this case, I needed to place a mortgage for customers looking to buy a large rural property. There were some added complexity to the Case as well but from start to finish both building Society were great. Even their national account manager got involved due to the amount of business they had inat one point and they really are an all hands to the pump organisation. Reviewed on: 24th February 2026

Kerrin has been fantastic to work with on a recent mortgage placement. His support throughout the case made a genuine difference, and it was refreshing to deal with someone so approachable, knowledgeable, and solution‑focused. What really stood out was how much his regular visits to our network meetings helped. Hearing him talk through Bath Building Society’s criteria in person meant that when this particular case came across my desk, I knew straight away that they were a lender worth considering. That clarity saved time and gave me confidence in the direction of the application. Overall, it’s been a really positive experience, and Kerrin’s involvement has played a big part in that. Tim and Nick who have supported us with the Mortgage we recently purchased have been first class. So many times we have had inferior services from organisations once they know the sale is made, but not at all with Bath Building Society and Tim and Nick. Bath Building Society - very flexible

Bath Building Society were very flexible and arranged a mortgage that many other lenders could not cope with. We run a guest house for mobile workers who stay with us for several months. None of the other lenders we approached could fit us into one of their predetermined boxes and declined us. Reviewed on: 11th February 2026
