Very quick service, smooth and efficient service

Very quick service. From application to mortgage offer just under 4 weeks, this at a time when all institutions were inundated with applications to beat the labour stamp duty increases. I had been advised that there would be a delay because of the SD increases so was pleasantly surprised to receive my offer in such a timely manner. Tim was especially helpful at the application stage. I have now had notice of completion. All in all a very smooth and pleasant experience Well done BIBS, impressed with you. A listening approach

My mortgage application could have been declined because the nature of the property doesn't fully fit with the Society's lending criteria. However, there are many positives about the property - and at every stage, Society colleagues were prepared to look at potential snags in the light of the bigger picture, to arrive at a balanced and considered view on whether a mortgage could be offered in my overall circumstances. BBS were great for our guest house mortgage

Bath Building Society was very flexible and set up a mortgage for our guest house. All the other lenders we approached (Lloyds, Natwest, Halifax etc.) were unable to help because we didn't fall into a standard tickbox category. The rate was always competitive, we had a series of discounted rate deals. Been with them for about 20 years. I highly recommend BBS. Reviewed on: 24th April 2025

My mortgage process was delayed because essential questions were not asked promptly by Bath at the outset. This delay ended up costing me over £1000 due to being on the SVR with my previous provider. The app itself is difficult to use and lacks necessary information accessibility. While I was satisfied with the rate during my mortgage term, any potential savings were negated by the delays in the initial months, largely caused by Bath. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Bath and will not return. Reviewed on: 24th April 2025

Brilliant mortgage provider

Excellent Service.
