Not suitable if you do not live in Bath.

Their products and interest rates are very good, but only if you live in Bath. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2023

Reply from Bath Building Society I think you mean that new accounts are restricted. Otherwise all of our members enjoy our good rates wherever they live. For those accounts that are restricted to new business they are typically available to existing loyal members and anyone who lives, works or studies in Bath. But not all of our accounts are restricted and we remove the restrictions when we can for example our Lifetime ISA was recently available nationally but because of the demand we had to apply restrictions to maintain service levels. Quick and helpful chat

I like that it’s a BS, makes me feel more comfortable putting money into it. Maybe it’s just on my phone but the online website doesn’t seem to be phone friendly. Squishes everything up and stuff. Otherwise no complaints! Reviewed on: 14th March 2023

Quick & efficient

We use BIBS because the account for our Property Management Company is ‘free’ and we get a small amount of interest. We are glad you are not, after all, charging for cheque withdrawls / deposits. For small sums, eg the annual £13 Companies House confirmation statement, which I, as treasurer, have to pay by credit card … I have to withdraw cash from your branch to repay that because on-line transactions must be greater than £50. Paying in our bi-annual Service Charges is also fraught …with your 00000000 account number. This now seems to work for the other flat owners, & it has worked for me; but now HSBC doesn’t like it and I am forced to come onto the branch with a cheque! Reviewed on: 13th March 2023
