A "PROPER" BUILDING SOCIETY

Bath BS use the balanced approach and trustworthiness once available in the building societies that have converted. It's mutual - the mortgage and savings rates reflect demand, so they are always going to be there. I like them especially because they are there at the end of a phone, especially when I first went online. Reviewed on: 24th March 2021

Old fashioned excellent Customer Service

I've been with the Bath Building Society for a number of years, and I've always had excellent Customer Service and help either on email, which is mostly of the time, and on the phone as required, as I live some distance away from any branch. I'd happily recommend. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2021

We have a water dispenser at both branches which is always well received with our members, especially on a hot and sunny day (which hopefully we will see again soon!) We will, however, take on board and consider your comments with regard to a free coffee machine. I share your frustration that savings rates are so low at the moment but with the Bank of England base rate at an historic low of 0.10% there is only so much flexibility we have. If you look at all of the rates that are available on the market and compare, which we do daily, you will see that our rates are competitive, if not market leading. I'm used to being passed from pillar to post when reaching out to bank customer services, so dealing with Bath was a breath of fresh air. Corinne replied promptly & accurately when I chased up my Junior ISA transfer request. I really appreciate the service & I'll be reluctant to transfer out of Bath now. (Also appreciate the old-school savings passbook :)) Reviewed on: 21st March 2021
