Brilliant Customer Service

Great way to get a little extra money into your bank account each month

Money in your current account and you get interest, paying by direct debit for your bills and you get a percentage back, so each month you have a little money also going into your back account, rather than always going out, can't be bad. Reviewed on: 14th November 2016

Disappointing!

So disappointed with the changes to the 123 current account! After Santander's recommendation this Summer, I changed my Santander Current Account and my ISA for the 123 Current Account so I could get the 3% interest on my balance. Santander is now reducing the 3% interest to 1.50%. If something works for customers why change it! Reviewed on: 30th October 2016

They used the 3% to gain more business, even when they knew they were dropping the rate

Santander used their 3% to gain a lot of business, they knew they would slash the rate in half, and they certainly duped us into banking with them based on the 3%. This was close to them announcing they were slashing their rate to 1.5%, yet they told us there were no plans to change the rate. If we knew how dishonest they are, we would have gone elsewhere. Easy to use account

AVOID BLUEWATER BRANCH!

I have visited this branch 4 times as it is in my commute between London and Canterbury. Every time it has been a long and tiring experience. No matter what time of day, and what day, Tuesday afternoon or Thursday morning, it's always short staffed and I wait a long time (minimum 15 mins) in the queue to be served. Once I had to deal with a lady who was extremely rude about me giving her £10 worthy of £1 in coin bags, even though I had 5 bags worth or £20 one pound coins and was depositing them along with 1k in notes! She said she couldn't accept the £10 and that I should have checked what's the appropriate way of depositing money before going to the branch! Even though I have lived in Canterbury for over 8 years and the Santander branch there has no problem with however many number of coins I give them! I let that go, and about 10 days so I went there again, after having queued for 20 mins and while everyone was getting frustrated, I had to deal with an oriental lady (she might have been Chinese) who took a very long time to deposit my money and seemed she couldn't really understand English well!!! I asked if I could have 12 months of bank statements printed and she told me she had to order them from the headquarters, which I agreed to. She said this was all done and should be with me in 10 working days! Yesterday, having had no statements posted to me, I rang Santander to follow up on this when the guy told me there must have been a mistake and that nothing was requested to be mailed to me. This is unacceptable. I need those documents urgently and I really can't afford to wait another 10 days. Avoid this branch of possible. I have dealt with the charing cross branch and the Canterbury branch and they are always extremely helpful and polite. Reviewed on: 21st September 2016

Opening an Account

Tried to open up a Regular eSavings Account in a local branch. Wait time to see a bank representative was some weeks away. Opted to try and do it via telephone. Waited an hour to speak to someone on the phone. Gave up in the end. Very poor service. Now doing business with another institution. Reviewed on: 26th July 2016
