Fraudulent Insurance company

Appalling customer service, paid for my insurance won’t cover me for an accident won’t cover the damage to the other cars won’t let me cancel my direct debit even though i do no have a vehicle to insure anymore and if i wish to cancel my policy they want MORE money out of me in the yearly premium for a car i do not have. AVOID AVOID AVOID this company, they claim to be insurance company but don’t actually insure you or the other drivers. Staff cannot deal with complaints accurately or timely. disgusting service. Scam Customers with Additional Fees

Very disappointing experience. I had been with them for a year and allowed my policy to auto-renew. While the renewal price had increased, it was still acceptable. The issue arose when my payment card had expired. Rather than contacting me to update my payment details, they attempted to take payment and, when it failed, immediately applied a £20 failed payment fee. Phone number took me to a non-UK call centre who wouldn’t drop the charge and wanted to impose an even bigger charge if I were to cancel the policy. Reviewed on: 18th June 2026

Dial direct insurance

I thought dial direct was a good choice to stay with them for a second year but how wrong was i customer service trying to get through on this automated phone system is rubbish and when you actually get through they can't answer your questions and then get put through to someone else and being pushed from pillar to post and also having someone put the phone down on me is definitely decrasfull and was on the phone for over 3 hours and still no further forward so I have put in a complaint so will never stay with them after this very poor service. rip off at any oppertunity

Took out insurance with dialdirect via a comparison site as it was a great price. With 4 months left on the policy I changed my car for the exact same car and model just the new one had lower mileage. Contacted dial direct and the wanted double my premium to insure it. So it was cheaper to take out a new policy with a different insurance company. So I asked to cancel the existing policy and they wanted to charge me to do so. Again it was cheaper just to let it run out. To add further insult they then renewed my policy at the end and want to charge me again to cancel it for a car I have sold that they knew I didn’t own, dream on see you in court Reviewed on: 13th March 2026

Avoid Dial Direct like the plague

Avoid like the plague - the worst insurance company I have ever used. I was already insured with Dial Direct and as I was buying a new car I need to change the policy details. The new car is a common make and model - a Mercedes GLA 200d. Nomvuyo Hlabangane on the Chat line told me - "We have a C200, we do not have C200d. We as Dial Direct do not have it on file. You will have to shop around for insurance". So I phoned up to speak to someone (from outside UK). After waiting a long time to speak to someone, he eventually told me he had a technical error and would ring me back. After waiting for ages he never rang me back. So I tried again to speak to someone and waited ages. Eventually, once again someone from a non-UK call centre answered only to be told same as the Chat line thatthey had no insurance for my make and model. Moneysupermarket for one example offer many choices from different insurance companies that I could use. Now I have had to cancel my Dial Direct insurance policy and take out another, actually with Hastings, who where quick to respond and most helpful. This has cost me a £60 cancellation fee all because Dial Direct are not able to offer insurance on a common make and model of car - NEVER AGAIN. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2026

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. Just an awful company. No communication at all,they make you ring them. A miscommunication from what i thought was a cancelled policy had lead me to owing them £176! Reviewed on: 27th February 2025

Thieves and liars

they were alright until i looked into changing from van to car insurance. First quote was around 750 annually. I called back after moving some funds around and was then quoted 3500, and the 750 was a monthly payments I DID NOT agree to go ahead with the change, I cancelled my policy and attempted to get insurance elsewhere, just to find they had taken the funds from my account anyway. At no point had I agreed to go ahead with the payment. Called them up and they claimed there was no payment taken, well my bank statements disagree. Robbing C***S Reviewed on: 26th January 2025

Dial direct gave me a cheaper quote than any other insurance. They are willing to go the extra mile by undercutting any other car insurance company, promising excellent value for your cover on your car.
