THINKING OF CHANGING HOME INSURANCE PROVIDER ?

Went on line to check costs with Direct Line after my current provider had increased my premium by over £80 per annum . Had a couple of queries and phoned Direct Line and ended up with a good policy and saved myself a great deal of money in the process . So helpful ! Reviewed on: 15th September 2016

A few years ago our house got broken into whilst we were at work, a lot of electrical things were stolen like a TV, consoles, games, a computer. When we first came back it was a horrible feeling to walk through the door that was hanging off it's frame, we waited 4 hours for police and they questioned us as if we were the criminals but when we spoke to direct line they were friendly, sympathetic and talked us through everything we needed to do. The process was pretty painfree and we were given a card with funds on to buy back the stuff we had lost. The only thing we were not covered for was a bracelet that we did not have proof of purchase for as it was handed down from a family member but it was more the sentimental value that mattered to us. But the fact that they not only covered our belongings they understood what a horrible time it was for us made the whole thing a lot easier. I would definitely recommend them and I'm so pleased that this was the company we were with at the time. Reviewed on: 11th September 2016

I once dropped a tin of paint down the stairs and completely ruined the stairs and hall carpet!! The husband wasn't impressed, but our insurance company thought it was very amusing! And to be fair, they dealt with it very quickly and efficiently Reviewed on: 14th July 2016

Back in the landline days, I sat on the stairs on the phone and felt something drip on me. I looked up and to my horror the ceiling was coming down, with water coming through. The radiator had burst and the water had come through from above. It was carnage. The flooring had to come up, the ceiling had to come down. The stuff of nightmares. Direct line sent out a claim expert, who insisted I keep the old by that point stinking mouldy wet carpet for 2 weeks until he could "check the claim". They were really helpful during our claim. They chased up people that weren't doing what they were supposed to. We've stuck with them because they were so good. They are competitive, not necessarily the cheapest but if they're amongst the cheaper few I'd choose them! Reviewed on: 1st June 2016
