Generally offer a competitive quote.

I must be honest, I have had house insurance for 30 years now and have yet to make a claim. I therefore cannot comment on how good Direct Line are in handling claims. I can say however, that I have generally found Direct Line to offer the most competitive quotes and so have stayed with them for numerous years. You will not find their rates on comparison websites and you will have to deal directly with Direct Line either by phone or internet. Definitely worth the effort of checking. Does the job but excesses should be made clear

I broke my iPad and tried to claim but was told I had a £200 excess to pay. I wasn’t aware of this and luckily managed to fix it without them for £40. I think excesses should be made more obvious when purchasing insurance. Reviewed on: 5th July 2019

Reliable and innovative

Home emergency cover

Toilet bowl filling up when flushing, taking hour to clear. Direct line got plumber out within 2 hours and resolved. Reviewed on: 21st September 2018

Appalling service

Apalling service . Or none at all in my case been trying to contact someone to have a policy sent out for 3 days now. Left hanging on line each time for at least 15mins only to be cut off each time . Disgraceful service! Reviewed on: 14th September 2018

Fairly Cheap But Good Cover and Streight

Better Than Most

i'm not going to overly sing their praises because their premiums are higher than most, but I stay with them due to the better turn over time of receiving money when I have had to make a claim,. Reviewed on: 5th September 2018

Hugely dissappinting

I thought direct line had great service which is how they justify their higher than normal prices. The person I spoke to to buy a policy sounded like her was getting p’d off at some of my questions. I just wanted to make sure I was covered. Disappointing. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2018
