were once great now hollowed out bad

used to love Halifax, been with them for over 10 years. The last 3 years noticed a massive drop in customer care, empty branches, absolutely no appreciation for customer loyalty. On top of that what was a simple easy account seem to be changing by the months with various rewards being pulled, reduced or simply scrapped. Constant tickering with the terms and conditions. Last straw was this week when having misplaced my wallet - branch flatly refused to help to draw a minimal GBP10 from my account. This the same branch I have been with for over 10 years, and has in the past allowed me to draw minimal amounts out of my account after a thorough security check. More than happy top sell my useless services though. Bye Halifax - good luck with the Lloyds rebrand. Reviewed on: 25th January 2018

Easy to use with rewards

An easy to use current account with a debit card. Monthly reward when you pay in a certain amount. Nice to get something for nothing. Reviewed on: 11th January 2018

Excellent Free Bank Account with Benefits

The Reward Current Account provides £3 free every month for staying in credit, having minimum 2 direct debits and minimum £750 paid into the account. There are also cashback extras which give cash rewards for shopping using the Visa debit card that comes with the account. Overdraft charges are minimal at 1p per day for every £7 of overdraft, great for those of us with small to medium sized overdrafts. Staff are always helpful and the online banking service and mobile app are excellent, very easy to use. Reviewed on: 3rd January 2018

An Excellent Free Bank Account

Halifax's Reward Current Account is free and pays £3 per month if you stay in credit and have 2 direct debits and £750+ credited to the account monthly. There are also cashback offers for using your debit card which are paid very quickly. Excellent everything you want from a bank

I've held this account for around 3 years now- it was a switch account, the money was paid in to switch within the week, all direct debits switched straight away. I also get a £3 monthly reward for paying in a certain amount and having two direct debits coming out. Reviewed on: 15th November 2017

A happy customer

I switched to the Halifax Reward Current Account earlier this year after 15 years with First Direct. The switching process was impressively smooth. The online banking interface is intuitive and I've never experienced any problems with it. On the few occasions that I've been into my local Halifax branch I've always found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. I have never had to queue. One feature I love about the account (which I didn't know about when I signed up) is the cashback that can be earned when using my Halifax debit card at certain retailers - e.g. supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways. The offers vary from week to week. I've earned a nice bit of extra spending money by using this feature. Overall I'm very happy with the account and have no plans to change bank.
