Review of the Halifax, Reward current account:

How I MaxMyMoney with Halifax

4
I have a Halifax Reward current account. It pays £5 month ( soon dropping to £3) if you have two direct debits and pay in £750 month. I have £750 that circles every month between several different bank accounts thus earning me interest in these accounts. I use the interest that I earn from the Halifax to pay for my mobile phone bill every month which is exactly £5 on a special deal with Plusnet. So in essence my mobile is free every month for me. Halifax is generally good service and when I gave had problems they have been happy to help. #MaxMyMoney Reviewed on: 1st March 2017

I get some cashback rewards ont he account from places I spend at - pennies really, but the three pounds per mo th isn't bad - just have to pay in 2 Direct Debits Reviewed on: 29th March 2017

Switching soon

Not only have they reduced my reward of £5 to £3, I had to pay in some coins this week, and was told I could only change 5 bags worth. I had 6 bags...which seems a bit archaic, unhelpful, and definitely not "going the extra mile". Reviewed on: 10th March 2017

It's a normal bank account but it pays me five pounds a month for doing nothing which is better than all of the banks I've used in the past. Maxyourmoney Reviewed on: 1st March 2017

Appalling Customer Service

1
I opened the Halifax Reward Account with the promise that wold receive £100 reward to "qualify" you need to pay in a certain amount and use their switching service and have at least two direct debts . I pay in £1850pcm . tick . I applied to use the switch service , tick , I have more that 2 DD tick ,. HOWEVER , their switching service cocked up and I had to make the switch myself for my direct debits . NOW they are using their error as an excuse not to pay the opening £100 reward . Pointless having the discussion with CUSTOMER SERVICE , they say the computer says no !!! No common sense , happy to lose customers . GUESS WHAT... this customer is off . Reviewed on: 1st March 2017

Easy Banking with some good features

This is a great everyday current account. If you stay in the green (and pay in the minimum per month, which you can take out and put back in) you are rewarded with £5 per month and if you go into the red you are charged a standard fee per day. Its that simple. The online functions for this account are great too and I often use these to pay bills and check on my balance. The account calculates all your remaining bills to your pay day and gives you an estimated amount left, which I totally love, keeps me right! Reviewed on: 18th February 2017

Halifax Reward Current account... only slightly rewarding!

All in branch contact I've had with Halifax has benn really positive, the only downside is there are very few branches local to me! The account itself is ok, I used to receive £5 per month as a reward from the bank but this has now been lessened to £3. Overall, I would recommend this account. Reviewed on: 4th February 2017

Great Service

I have been with Halifax for 15 years now, and only when I ended up taking a mortgage out with another bank at a preferential rate did I realise how easy Halifax made things for customers. The banking app is brilliant, with an easy to use security sign in, and I love that I can telephone directly to a branch unlike some other banks! Reviewed on: 16th November 2016
