The Halifax Reward current account charges a low monthly fee which is waived when you deposit a set amount each month.

With the Halifax Reward account, each year, you can choose the monthly reward you’d like. Other benefits include exclusive savings offers and cashback. Halifax also has a mobile banking app.

Reward Current Account - useless reward tracker

The Reward Current Account pays a £5 a month reward for (amongst other requirements) make £500 of debit card payments each month, which is pretty decent. The app has a reward tracker so that you can keep track of progress. Except the tracker is absolutely useless. It is not updated in real time, or anything like it. Right now, on 1 May, it is showing progress only up to 21 April. The only option is to go through the tedious process of totting up the payments manually. It's been this way for months, if not years. my grandad opened my first bank account with Halifax when I was younger and I'm still with them 15 years later! They're the best bank. Great customer service. They support you through hard times.
