Black box insurance rip off

We took out car insurance with Hastings and as we are young drivers we chose their black box scheme . DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP. We have been told twice that they are cancelling our policy due to their OWN faulty box , which they even sent out someone to fix! Now they expect us to pay £255!!! As a cancellation fee. We have complained lots and all we are getting is awful and rude customer service .We will be eventually taking this to court if this carries on. Finalising a claim took ages. Had to call them many times to track progress just to find out that they are very unorganized and unable to keep track of their own files. Very poor customer service with workers who don't know what they're talking about. Would never go with Hastings Direct again even if they paid me. Reviewed on: 12th June 2017

Reasonable price with good benefits

Whilst there were cheaper options for my insurance, Hastings were the provider that offered what I'm after in terms of cover and benefits without the need for a black box. Reviewed on: 6th June 2017

Very Cheap Car Insurance

For the 2nd year in a row Hastings have been the lowest car insurance quote by far. I know it's different for everyone, but for me it was at least 20% cheaper than the 2nd quote. Reviewed on: 4th June 2017

Not great value for money

Try hard but online service a shambles

Although Hastings offered a competitive quote there service is lacking in organisation. The phone staff are helpful and polite but don't really seem capable to sort out issues . The website failed from day one to open up my account and this problem was passed to the IT department who after 11 months of a 12 month policy still haven't sorted the problem . Account number issued was irrelevant 3 months later despite being printed on the form . Could not print out documents , had to keep ringing them to send me it by e mail due to an error with their site . Changing cars mid term was also a hassle and despite downgrading to a more economical car received no discount in my policy and staff could not explain why . Disappointing in general .
