Shocking

Used telephone banking to change my address as I have moved. The person I spoke to was not at all clear and spoke very quietly I asked them if they would talk louder but throughout the call they spoke very quietly. They told me after about half an hour that I had not passed the security questions and that the account was locked and I would have to go into a branch of the bank to rectify. The only branch in Northampton is in the town center is closed until 19th December?? My personal account details are being sent to the old address where all the occupants will now have access to my account?? Reviewed on: 25th November 2022

HSBC has been causing me major problems

This is the worst bank I've ever used in my entire life. Absolutely rubbish.They are unable to provide bank statements, which has been causing me major problems. It's absolutely ridiculous! I not only can't have an up to date bank statement on the app on real time but they also fail to produce the monthly bank statement and there are not enough branches. Their customer service is appalling and unreliable since they never seem to be able to sort out what they are asked. I really regret having my bank account with them. My advice is: never ever have your bank account with HSBC. Reviewed on: 7th February 2024

Don’t care about their customers

Huge craggy monolith with zero interest in normal customers. General disdain demonstrated over the years, but topped off with leaving me stranded 6000 miles from home with no access to cash after my wallet was stolen. (In a city with a massive HSBC presence!) customer “service” basically said tough luck. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2024

Appalling customer service.

Appalling customer service. I applied for an HSBC Advance current account on 30th October, HSBC acknowledged my application and confirmed that they would "need to do some important checks. This may take up to 10 days". I heard nothing so I raised a formal complaint which was acknowledged with a reference on 4th December. I've since continued to receive generic, seemingly automated e-mails telling me "We are taking your concerns seriously and again, I'm really sorry for the continued delay" though the reality is I don't believe they are taking my concerns seriously and I don't believe they're sorry. This is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever received from a bank or any financial institution. At time of writing in January 2024 its now been 73 days since I applied for this current account and 38 days since I raised a formal complaint and the account is still not open and the complaint has still not been appropriately responded to. On December 24th 2023, I submitted an application online for a 1 year Fixed rate of 4.7 % on £10000. As of today I have made several phone calls to HSBC to ask why my application has NOT been processed, but is still pending, but have had no email, message or phone call to confirm why HSBC has not processed the account I applied for. Very poor telephone service very good in bank serviec

The person that I spoke to for telephone banking asked 10 questions for security I answered them all correctly as they were questions about me, but the person I spoke to had a very strong accent and could not understand my English accent? And she was difficult to understand what a waste of time she said I had answered the question incorrectly I had not she just couldn't understand English what a waste of time, I had to go into the band branch to find someone who understood English.
