Review of the HSBC, Bank Account:

Shocking

1
Used telephone banking to change my address as I have moved. The person I spoke to was not at all clear and spoke very quietly I asked them if they would talk louder but throughout the call they spoke very quietly. They told me after about half an hour that I had not passed the security questions and that the account was locked and I would have to go into a branch of the bank to rectify. The only branch in Northampton is in the town center is closed until 19th December?? My personal account details are being sent to the old address where all the occupants will now have access to my account?? Reviewed on: 25th November 2022

Years of service

I opened my bank account with HSBC at the age of 11 and I am still with them today. Excellent level of service Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Unethical and unhelpful

1
Our branch turned into a 'coffee shop'. You can no longer go into our branch to carry out normal counter transactions. You have to stand in a huge line to ask the staff if they're able to help you. Invariably they can't as I only go into the bank to do things you can't do online e.g. cash foreign cheques. The counter has been replaced by a coffee machine and sofas. I don't go into my bank to sit down, have a coffee and a chat with the staff. I'd like to be able to carry out transactions. Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Perfect

Left a High Street rival and transferred to HSBC. Smooth changeover and they have been perfect ever since. Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Automatic overdraft extension

5
Due to delays in receiving money owed to me, a recent credit card bill would have taken me beyond my already significant agreed overdraft. To enable that and other bills to be paid, the bank automatically extended the facility, and advised they had, so that no payments were 'bounced'. I am a long term customer, and they understand that sometimes I need a bit more flexibility than is already covered. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Best bank ever

5
I’ve been with HSBC since I was 16, I’m now 33. I’ve never had any issues. Their telephone and online banking is so easy to use. I love the fact that I can increase my ATM withdrawal limit to £1000 for 24 hours. I got hit with fraud and they helped recover my money. Don’t think il ever change from them Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Amazing bank

I have been with HSBC for a few years now and we have had issues from tie to time but they do try and get it sorted, They are always trying to stay ahead of the curve but some services need attention but I am sure they will get there Reviewed on: 12th May 2023

Seriously poor bank

1
Un trained colleagues, seriously poor customer service, miss charging and stealth fees. Don't know there own policies! All in all absolutely diabolical company Reviewed on: 11th May 2023

Horribly outdated old fashioned bank

1
This bank is still running with policies and systems from the 1900s. Try and transfer an ISA in, you need to print a form and take it in to a branch (at best you might find an PDF to send, but again, it's clunky) Try and pay in anything in a branch you need to fill in an old fashioned deposit slip Reactivate a dormant account you need to fill in a PDF and submit it (no online processing). It states 2 working days processing but you'll wait weeks, perhaps months (old fashioned clunky process again) You need a tax certificate, you need to apply to have it posted or chat to someone All of the above are done a lot more efficiently by all other "High street" banks Reviewed on: 26th April 2023

AMATEUR BANK OF CLOWNS ENGAGED IN DISTURBING, ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN OF VILE ABUSE

1
I suffer from SEVERE HEALTH PROBLEMS, known to HSBC for many years (I have been a customer there for 20). Bank is now engaged in a PROLONGED, MALICIOUS CAMPAIGN OF ABUSE & ILLEGALITIES (involving staff members Geneen, James Tapp, Bethany Hayton). Company seems to think the law/rules don't apply to them - & they can act as they wish. My life/health has been utterly DEVASTATED by the GROSS NEGLIGENCE/INCOMPETENCE & disturbing campaign of ILLEGAL ABUSE embarked on by company & their rogue, Extremist, creepy/voyeuristic staff. I suffer from severe health problems with a HIGH LINK to SUICIDE - & have been left feeling SUICIDAL bu the persistent, prolonged ABUSE, NEGLIGENCE & ILLEGAL CONDUCT of this appalling, dishonest/unscrupulous, BLM-Terror Supporting Business Reviewed on: 24th April 2023

Money …… yes a lot more than £50 . £8 years I worked hard in that factory for the tax man / N/I/ then you HSBC £25 a month…… some lucky man / woman is sitting on a pot of gold . I’m taking this further…… Reviewed on: 17th April 2023
