Review of the Jaja Finance, Credit Card:

Very easy and responsible credit card provider

5
So far nothing but a positive experience with a Jaja credit card. Main point is that it just works (as a credit card should!). But the setup makes it easy to use the card well, from direct debit payments, the ability to freeze the card, notifications about spending and balance management, and the application process. And of course in-app approvals of online spends, Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

Shocking

We were automatically transferred from post office. We had the post office card because the exchange rates received for overseas use was excellent. I work in Foreign Exchange Market so keep an eye on these things. Purchased an item in USD in November. At the tome GBP/USD was at 1.31. Historically with the post office we would have received a rate of 1.30ish. With jaja we got 1.16. I cannot stress how shocking this rate is. It is worse than you would receive at an airport currency exchange booth. Please avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 5th January 2021

Abysmal

Had no problems with my post office credit card. Then jaja took over, now I’ve had endless amounts of grief. All the complaints (as there’s several now) will be escalated to the ombudsman, Reviewed on: 4th January 2021

Worst ever Credit Card Provider

Please DO NOT ever use this credit card provider. It is the worst company, it is astonishing they are still allowed to operate. Poor poor poor. Reviewed on: 30th December 2020

Avoid like a cow pat

this is the worst Credit card provider ever. Do not use ever, I was a transfer customer from the Post Office and ever since its all gone down hill from day 1. We are now up to Complaint number 5. The only reason I keep the account open is to access travel refunds still coming in. Do not use! Reviewed on: 29th December 2020

Atrocious

I suggest that you avoid this "company" at all costs. I have been transferred to JAJA from the Post Office which, for many years, has been excellent. I tried to pay JAJA card (just a small purchase to initiate the new card) via BACS: the JAJA web instructions on how to set up a BACS payment does not give the account name (only Sort Code and Account number). My bank wouldn't accept no name. Phoned JAJA customer "services" who gave me an account name. This wasn't accepted by my bank. Phoned again, this time was given another name which didn't work. The person (who seemed to be trying to be helpful but obviously couldn't confirm their actual account name) gave me three more possible account names to try. Non worked. He suggested that I phoned my bank to get them to find the JAJA account name! Surely, it would be simple for JAJA to put their account name on the web page that says how to set-up a BACS payment? The company seems inept; it is such a shame that the excellent Post Office chose such an organisation. I've closed the account and will take out another credit card focused on use abroad. Just NO

Automatic transfer from Post Office - not asked for or wanted and no option offered for a service I have not agreed to. Customer Services based abroad, poor phone line, couldn't hear them, they put the phone down. Don't want an app, don't want online only access, don't want the card or the account. I've stopped all transactions and removed card details from online sites. Had to register for the account in order to freeze the card. Once final payment taken account will be closed. Would not recommend this company

Jaja have lost over £2000 of my money which was paid in October. I am told the issue is being sorted. But in the meantime my credit limit has been reduced. When I complained I was told it had nothing to do with them. Reviewed on: 20th December 2020

No Way

No way will I activate my JAJA card on the basis of these reported incidents. Perhaps this was done by the Bank of Ireland in revenge for Brexit. Reviewed on: 18th December 2020

Avoid at all costs

I Paid £316.00 to pay off my account they say they have not received it. I Contacted my own bank they gave me all the details of the transaction. i.e GBR Authorisation code and ARN Acquirer reference number I forwarded all this on and I have heard nothing they don’t care never had this trouble with the Post Office as soon as this is resolved the card will be cut up avoid this company at all costs appalling service they should not be in business. Astonishingly poor service

Don't contact Jaja unless you have lots of time to spare. I found a rogue item on my statement and called to have it queried, it took 55 minutes to get a reply. After registering my potential fraudulent item I was told the amount would be restored and my account would be monitored. It never happened. I have tried again to contact Jaja with no success.
