Online banking poor, great TV ad’s

Awhile ago their online facilities wouldn’t work had to use another account with a different bank, I understand in the news again their online platform isn’t working again. Yet if you watch their television advert, they’re always blowing their own trumpet with about 20 horses running about showing how great they are but unfortunately they are a bit different in reality. And yet there’s this Almighty push to go digital, forget cash that’s old money, but cash is handy when the digital doesn’t work which is often. Reviewed on: 28th February 2025

getting rid of paper statements was a very bad idea, it forces us to use internet banking and with the endless scams online and malware / viruses they are putting us at risk of financial loss. they also closed by local branch meaning i have to go miles just to use a bank. The account is fine.

The account is fine. I have been with Lloyds forever. It was my first bank because my parents banked there and opened my account there. It's a fairly standard current account. No bells and whistles. It does what it says on the tin. I have only come across problems when my debit cards don't work. This happened quite a few times. The staff in branches were usually helpful but it was the phone lines that were awful. They just didn't want to listen and showed no empathy at all. They also treated me like an idiot - very frustrating when I've worked in Banking for over 12 years and am actually a Product Manager for cards...I would dare say, I know what I am talking about.
