Communication could be a bit better.

There was some confusion over payment days which has lead to a bad mark on my credit history. So communication wasn't the absolute best. Also, my new mortgage rate comes into effect now-ish and I've had no communication regarding that. Reviewed on: 10th February 2025

Interest Only Loan

Slow application process and not competitive rates

The application process originally was very slow and we had to resubmit information many times. We have moved as you couldn’t offer a competitive rate and we have saved over £320 per month by moving. Reviewed on: 29th April 2020

Disorganised

One thing was asked for then another when everything could have been done at the same time. Very long winded asked more questions than any other company. Which had nothing to do with anything. Reviewed on: 24th April 2020

Wouldn't recommend

Unfortunately my experience so far has been characterised by stress, additional unnecessary expense, and poor communication from some staff (although some call handlers have been excellent, and very helpful). Reviewed on: 14th April 2020

Friendliest Building Society I have ever experienced

Every time you enter the building you are made to feel welcome. Not only is it a place to deposit money or discuss investments it is a social hub. Many elderly people don’t have anyone to talk to but when they come into the society they feel part of a wider family. Reviewed on: 8th February 2020
