Disappointed is an understatement.

Opened a savings account with all the documentations needed. I made the 1st transfer of £12 into my account and followed the instructions carefully (firstly, it shouldn't be such a process to make a transfer) and my £12 has vanished into thin air. It never arrived into my Mansfield account & yet left my Halifax account. I called customer service & the lady wasn't helpful, she had made up her mind that I must have done the transfer wrongly & my explanation was not getting through. I am disappointed with this bank is an understatement. All the process & yet making a transaction isn't even easy. I am glad I only transfered £12 not any huge figure otherwise. I do NOT recommend Mansfield building society. You might as cut out the middle man & go straight to Barclays (the affiliated bank). I feel very disappointed & upset. I feel like my effort was wasted. Anyways, I found another bank who was offering the same service as Mansfield & everything was as smooth as butter. Reviewed on: 4th November 2025
