Excellent service for fixing my mortgage rate.

I found the service provided by Michelle the mortgage advisor to be very knowledgeable and helpful. She was excellent. Appointment took about 1 hour by telephone and she emailed me all documents that I required to complete my new fixed rate on my mortgage. Reviewed on: 21st January 2025

Further Advance

I worked with Anita Morgan in trying to consolidate my debt and despite the rules of the Society Anita worked so hard and diligently in helping put a case together so that the offer could be supported and underwritten by the society. This was a lengthy process but the approval of the offer has been given and for me and my family this is a huge help in changing our life as we are saving around £2,500 a month with this offer. Without Anita this would have never happened, the funds will be here on 22nd Jan and I will sort the debts and move forwards. Reviewed on: 16th January 2025

MBS Rate Switch

Mortgage advisor Olly proactively called me to query a VM that I had left, a few days prior. He was professional, engaging and arranged my rate switch efficiently and effectively. The MBS website is terrible but thankfully they have professionals like Olly & Adam that more than make up for it. Reviewed on: 14th January 2025

Our two year mortgage product was coming to an end.

Our two year mortgage product was coming to an end. After speaking with Adam he sent across via email some options of mortgage products and made an appointment for Jamie to call me a few days later to discuss which product we were interested in. I can not fault their friendliness or competence in dealing with me. Moving forward we have another 2 year mortgage deal which we are happy with. Reviewed on: 9th January 2025

The Truth about the Monmouthshire Building Society

Once upon a time building societies existed to help people in their communities. In the case of the Monmouthshire Building Society this is no longer the case. We have suffered extraordinarily difficult circumstances and they have and still are declining to offer us any meaningful help. Do not trust them. Do not believe their advertisements 'We are a mutual building society run for the benefit of our members'. This could not be further from the truth. Despite many requests they will not even meet us in person, which is a strange way to 'benefit' us. They are not reducing their interest rates as the Bank of England have done because in their words “As a Building Society we can increase or decrease our SVR at any time, and we do not need to follow the movement in the Bank of England Base Rate. This basically means that they can and are quite prepared to ruin their members. They have behaved so badly towards us that it beggars belief. Their complaints procedure is utterly pointless. Despite stating that they agreed with one of our complaints, they still were 'unable to uphold' it for an utterly nonsensical reason which has no correlation to the complaint. The complaints procedure is a box ticking exercise designed solely for them to appear to be fulfilling their obligations. Above all else, remember that the Monmouthshire Building Society are money lenders who, just like all other money lenders, are in it for themselves and themselves alone. They are causing us catastrophic financial ruin which was completely avoidable and the bottom line is they do not care. Even if you are critically vulnerable, they do not care. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Reviewed on: 6th January 2025

Hassle free telephone support

Had several telephone conversations with Joshua Davies regarding possible mortgage Rate Switch options. He clearly explained the alternatives and was very helpful and understanding about our circumstances. Consequently, we completed a swap promptly and with very little effort or hassle on our part.
