Monzo : Great look but mixed experience

I had high hopes for Monzo, especially with all the hype around it being one of the top digital banks. At first, the app felt modern and user-friendly, and features like spending categories, instant notifications, and savings pots were definitely a nice touch. But over time, it started to feel a bit underwhelming. The customer service can be slow at crucial times, especially when you need help urgently, and while the features are cool, they’re not always as smooth or reliable as advertised. There have also been times where the app experienced glitches or downtime, which is frustrating when you're relying on it for everyday banking. I think Monzo is great if you want a side account to manage spending, but I wouldn’t fully rely on it as my main bank just yet. It still feels like it’s figuring things out. Easy control of my spending and saving

I love how easy it is to sort a salary payment into pots and feel in control of my monthly spending! I also love the trends telling me how much I've spent each month and on which categories. I find the notifications super helpful as well. Reviewed on: 11th April 2025

Love my Monzo

Whenever I've had an issue it gets immediately resolved in a friendly way via the chat feature. I love the user experience and interface - no bank has matched this in terms of being able to easily track where you money goes each month and it also makes investing via the app simple with explainers and videos Reviewed on: 11th April 2025

Never had an issue with Monzo!!

I've had absolutely no issues at all since joining in 2017, i remember having it as a pre-paid card!! Any time I've ever had to talk to the Monzo team (which is very rare) they have always been so helpful and kind, I also love the spending budget so I know how much I'm spending and how much is left in my budget. I have Monzo Max and I love the all the benefits you get with it, like the free Railcard which is really helpful for when I have to travel into London for work! I also love that I have breakdown cover, phone and travel insurance included with it and also a lovely weekly Greggs treat. I've never had so many benefits from a bank and it's also great that I can include my partner on it and it only costs £20 a month, I don't think I'll ever leave Monzo as it's definitely my top choice for any day to day payments Reviewed on: 11th April 2025

I’ve been with Monzo for many years. For crazy reasons, couldn’t get a bank account. (I’m an immigrant.) I now have a thriving business and a mortgage - which I couldn’t have had without a current account. The service is fantastic, easy to use, intuitive, and helpful. The staff seem so lovely.
