Fast responses and understanding

Last year I suffered some medical issues and so was on sick pay for a long time. They didn’t pry and simply asked why my earnings were lower than expected and after receiving a simple explanation were very understanding and continued with the explanation. They worked very well and were very responsive. They also sent a lovely hamper as a moving in gift which was a lovely touch. Reviewed on: 4th September 2019

Mortgages do get paid in the end!

Growing old isn't all bad. Now paid off the last of our Newbury Building Society mortgages after several properties and many years. In the beginning they trusted me with a loan when others wouldn't. They were always good to me and I always made every payment. Kind of works in the long term - and we both did OK. Bad luck Halifax - you missed out. Reviewed on: 30th August 2019

Mortgage

Our experience with Newbury Building Society has been great from start to finish. Buying a house is always a stressful experience and throw in a wedding on top then you’ve got two of the most stressful situations (albeit happy) to go through at the same time! First time buyer - so far so good!

Perfect Customer Service

With the help of a local Mortgage advisory, Steven Douglas, Newbury Building Society was top of the list and Steve could not recommend them enough. Due to our personal circumstances, we needed a lender that would actually look at our application and not a computer to say yes or no, and this is exactly what we got. A friendly and understanding professional reviewing our application and accepting us with a quick follow up call to discuss some of the financial issues in the past. We are now the very proud owners of our first home on a shared ownership with our mortgage provided by Newbury BS. Within the first day of being in our new house, we received an amazing gift box. Not a little token box either, a proper box full of goodies including a cafetière, coffee, tea, biscuits LOADS of gift vouchers and discount codes for Weyfair and similar, wine and beer vouchers.
