Switching to a new product - fabulous service

Very impressed with the service we have had switching from an old Buy-to-let deal to a new one. Communication has been brilliant and impressed anything financial is via a secured email service. Exemplary service

We have been a depositor and borrower with NBS for more than 25 years. Post retirement over ten years ago, we still had an outstanding mortgage on our principal residence as the cash had been used to assist children with various property purchases, latterly a flat in London occupied and rented by our youngest daughter and others. The intention was always to transfer the flat to her but the outstanding borrowings needed to be transferred to her also. Our existing fixed rate product came to an end on 31 January and we started discussions with Eve McDowell in September about how to structure the arrangement which entailed me supporting our daughter with my income to enable her to achieve the earning multiple to support the required borrowing. Eve has always been incredibly pleasant and helpful to deal with as we have discussed our ultimate objective over a number of years. A satisfactory mortgage offer was issued in early December and the new advance on the security of the flat completed on 31 January to tie in with the redemption at the end of our fixed rate product. What I like about NBS is that they are friendly, local, efficient, accessible, flexible and easy to deal with and it gives the impression of providing a personalised service. Its products may not be the most competitive in the market place (apart from the 2.21% discount from SVR withdrawn in October!) but they maintain a reasonable balance. We hope this continues with the current increases in BoE base rate. Reviewed on: 3rd February 2023

Too slow
