Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Basingstoke Branch

Just like a local coffee shop

As a rule, going into a High Street Bank can be foreboding and oppressive but going into the Newbury Building Society is like going into the local coffee shop (but without the coffee) for a chat with friends. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2024

Friendly, knowledgeable advice on savings accounts

Ken at the Newbury branch was very helpful when I was looking for alternative savings accounts. Asked questions, showed options and made the process easy. We made an appt for the following week, and after deciding on options, opened 2 accounts. Passbook for one arrived the next day in the post, the ISA transfer will take longer but should be finalised soon. No high pressure sales, just solid advice for our requirements.
