Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Great rates, quick and good customer servoce

Opened up an account a year ago and have just transferred to another account. A couple of hoppus to jump through the the website isn't as slick as it could be, but great customer service from the team that helped me get to where I needed. Newbury Building Society is Tops, obviously!

Newbury Building Society must interview and train their staff very thoroughly, which was evident on our recent visit to set up an account in Hungerford. The service was efficient and clear, the office was clean and comfortable, and the result was swift and satisfactory. Newbury Buildings Society is tops - quite obviously! Reviewed on: 6th March 2020

Excellent customer service

I emailed to contact someone as I couldn’t open the account I wanted on line. I received a prompt reply and the customer service advisor sent the paperwork I needed. This was followed up with a personal letter with the passbooks. I thought the whole experience was very prompt and personal. Reviewed on: 28th February 2020

Brilliant Customer Service

I opened a savings account by post....I managed to forget to print the back page properly and a lovely lady called me to say they still needed a signature, sent the missing page to me by first class post with a pre paid envelope to return it, and explained timescales etc. I Love smaller Building Societies like Newbury as you get a much more personal service than you do with big nationals. Opened an account only for it to be closed within 24 hrs

Everything went really well. It was all set up very quickly and I was told I was accepted and the account was open. But...the next day I was notified it was closed and funds returned because I was not permitted to have a second account from the same product. It would have been better had I at least been offered the chance to convert to a different product and have the choice. Newbury is an excellent service provider generally, so this was an unexpected blip. Reviewed on: 28th February 2020

It took a little longer than I imagined it would take. It was, after all, a fairly simple job.

I wanted to open an existing member's account. The instructions for online transfer to achieve this were not particularly clear and the process was delayed due to my needing to prove my identity for an account that was only available t existing members - seems a little illogical... Opening a Savings Account

I opened a Savings Account and found the process easy and quick. Newbury doenst offer the best rate in the market but it's not far off. With the peace of mind that they offer very pleased to be dealing with them and would duggest they are a good choice. Reviewed on: 28th February 2020
