I have had two significant experiences where PayPal Credit stepped in when I needed it most. The first was when I struggled to get a refund for my mother’s flight ticket after the airline cancelled the return journey. Despite years of unanswered emails and limited compensation options from the travel agent, PayPal’s customer service reviewed my case swiftly and fairly. Within just two interactions, I was refunded £350—the true value of the return ticket. Their responsiveness was a breath of fresh air after five years of waiting for answers. My second experience came at a deeply emotional time. After attending a close family member’s funeral, I had to book a last-minute flight back to the UK—at prices nearly three times the usual cost. A really convenient source of credit at a great rate

I have had a PayPal account for many years and have been made aware of PayPal Credit but the offering isn't intrusive, like many other credit institutions. When I did apply, the process was very simple, I was given a modest amount of credit that has grown over time and the interest rate is low. I am notified when payments are due and they are taken by direct debit from my account already linked to my PayPal account, so there was no need to fill in further forms. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2025
