Does what it says on the tin

For a standard, no-frills account I can't fault this. Easy to manage, very easy to contact customer services when you need to, and friendly helpful staff on the end of the phone. That's what you want when you just need to access your account with as little fuss as possible, and get on with the more important things in life. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Rubbish

Recently opened a current account with RBS. Tried to transfer money from my savings account into my current account and my account was suspended hours later. Nobody can explain why it has been suspended. It is now going to take another 48 hours whilst they ‘investigate’. The call centre are friendly but pretty useless, they won’t provide any further updates and apparently there is nobody else to talk to (apparently you cannot speak to the fraud team). I now cannot access any money. Useless. I’ll be changing back to my previous bank (HSBC), once I can actually access my money again. If you want to keep your money locked up with absolutely no access, then I’d recommend otherwise they are pretty useless. Reviewed on: 16th August 2023

Easy to switch to

I switched to their account and received a £200 switching offer. It was very easy to do. Thr account is easy to use, and the app nice. Definitely recommended! Reviewed on: 3rd April 2023

The worst bank I have had an account with

They blocked my account in 2017 without any reason and blocked my money in their account and until now I didn’t received money back , I have all the bank statements printed on the papers which I got from the bank , and when I going in the bank to ask to return my money they said that they can’t find my account in the system, and this case happened not only with me .. Don’t trust this bank, your money will not be in a safe place in this bank , They are thieves Reviewed on: 10th March 2023
